Gili Lankanfushi Maldives


With a uniquely laid philosophy, Gili Lankanfushi is one of Maldives' best-loved resorts. Fusing rustic design and unparalleled service with awe-inspiring natural surroundings, Gili Lankanfushi is the pioneer of ethical, sustainable, barefoot luxury in the Maldives.

Newly re-opened 1st December 2019, the resort features 45 refurbished overwater villa resort located on a private island, 20 minute from Velana International Airport by speedboat.

The resort's main infinity pool is the stunning highlight of the resort - it is perfect place to soak up the sun, relax on the loungers and beanbags.

All 45 villas are lcoated overwater and offer open-air living spaces, roof terraces and private decks with direct access to the lucent turquoise waters that surround the island. The rustic-chic design is inspired by the resort's natural surroundings, with glass floor panels offering a glimpse of the corals blooming below.

At Gili, you can stay in the world's largest overwater villa. At 1,700 sqm, the Private Reserve offers total seclusion that is located 300m away from the nearest residence and comprises of five vast buildings linked by open-air walkways.

Sustainability at Gili Lankanfushi

Sustainability is at the heart of the island's vision, with an emphasis on preserving the natural environment, protecting the fragile marine ecosystem, and leaving only footprints behind. An advanced rocket composter can process up to 100% of the resort's food waste, producing compost which in turn nurtures the island's extensive organic herb garden.

Every piece of furniture is custom made by skilled craftsmen using upcycled materials, including bed frames made from recycled teakwood and lampshades handwoven with recycled wire mesh to feature fish and sea turtules. All rooms provide organic toiletries in refillable earthenware containers, to minimise plastic use and wastage.

Conservation is taken seriously on the island, with their dedicated marine biology team monitoring the health and biodiversity of the surrounding coral reef ecosystems. The Coral Lines project provides a nursery environment for new corals to grow, bolstering the house reef and monitorning health and survival types across coral genotypes.

Gili Lagoon Villa

On the island, there are 5 Gili Lagoon Villas, each with a total area of 210sqm. These overwater luxurious villa face the west and offers spectacular sunset views.

Spread across two floors, these thatched one-bedroom hideaways each come with an open-air living room, spacious bathroom and private rooftop terrace.

This villa boast open-air living areas with daybeds and a dining table. The spacious master bedroom has a king-sized bed and daybed, providing plenty of space for you to rest and rejuvenate.

It also comes with an overwater sundeck with catamaran nets, sun loungers, daybeds and direct ocean access, allowing you to marvel at the beautiful marine life. Bask in the sun on your deck, or swim out to your private water hammock.

Villa Suite with Pool

The 264 sqm Villa Suite with Pool are west-facing Villa Suites that offers spectacular sunset views of Maldives.


This villa boast open-air living areas with daybeds and a dining table. The spacious master bedroom has a king-sized bed and daybed, providing plenty of space for you to rest and rejuvenate.

An extended sundeck area parallel to the villa with a 19sqm infinity pool, sunloungers, two daybeds and catamaran nets overlooking the sparkling turquoise lagoon.

Spread across two floors, these thatched one-bedroom hideaways also comes with a private rooftop terrace with daybeds and dining facilities, allowing you to dine under the stars.

Residences

For guests who prefer more privacy, there are four 250sqm Residences that offer further seclusion as they are located away from neighbouring villas at the end of the jetties, with two offering private swimming pools (Residence with Pool).

Large enough to accommodate a family of four, each comes with a master bedroom with a king sized bed and a daybed.

The living area is large and spacious, with 2 large daybeds and a dining room that is convertible to an additional bedroom. Further to your living area, you'll get an overwater sundeck with catamaran nets, sun loungers, daybeds and direct ocean access.

Spread across two floors, these residences also comes with a private rooftop terrace with daybeds and dining facilities, allowing you to dine under the stars. It also comes with a kitchenette and a mini wine cellar.

For guests who would prefer a private pool, you can opt for the 374 sqm Residence with Pool which comes with a 24sqm infinity pool and an extended sundeck area parallel to the residence. This extended sundeck area offer plenty of space for indulgence under the sun/starts and it include sun loungers, dining table, daybeds and a large catamaran nets overlooking the sparkling turquoise lagoon.


Family Villa

Perched at the end of our western-facing jetty, the 350sqm Family Villa offers unrivalled panoramic views of the surrounding sapphire seascape and exquisite sunsets.

Its spacious master bedroom includes an en-suite bathroom plus an outdoor tub and shower area. Another en suite guest room comes with an indoor jacuzzi and pantry.

Two large air-conditioned living rooms provide ample living (and extra sleeping) spaces, with dining facilities, pantry and powder room. Your private roof top terrace also comes with daybed, jacuzzi and massage beds for a private massage.

Bask under the sun in the extended deck with a family dining area, overwater deck with sun loungers and direct ocean access.

For guests who would prefer to have a pool, you can opt for the Family Villa with Pool that comes with a 32sqm infinity pool for the ultimate indulgence under the sun.


Dining

From ocean to plate, Gili Lankanfushi's gastronomic vision embraces the bounty of the surrounding waters alongside carefully sourced seasonal ingredients, which feature across the island's three restaurants.


Kashiveli

Located directly on the beach and open for breakfast and dinner, this restaurant embodies locally-sourced, nutritious ingredients and vibrant flavours through a marriage of land and ocean.

Breakfast celebrates the region's wide variety of fresh tropical fruits with an ever-changing array of smoothies, juices and fresh fruit plates made to order, as well as tradtionally Maldivian offerings such as Mas Huni and international favourites.


Four evenings per week see the beach and overwater bar transformed with a buzzing market experience, with the Asian Street Market, Mediterranean Spice Souk, Passage to India and Maldivian Seafood Grill Nights.

Cold Room at Kashiveli

The newly added cold room features a selection of premium cold cuts, artisan cheeses and homeade chocolates made available during the gourmet breakfast experience.

By the Sea

Open five nights a week and offering authentic sushi, sashimi, teppanyaki and more, this restaurant offers delicious Japanese fusion dishes using locally-sourced seafood and reef fish, overlooking the calm waters of the northern shore. The extensive sake selection brings together only the highest quality sakes from across Japan.

Overwater Bar

Occupying an enviable position overlooking the calm waters of Gili Lagoon, the overwater bar is often frequented by reef sharks and rays drifting through the languid waters below.

Lunchtimes see the open kitchen cooking up a concise and daily-changing trio of dishes, whilst a lighter option comes in the form of an extensive salad bar.

As sunset turns the sky afire, this place becomes the perfect setting for sundowners: delicious cocktails freshly crafted using local flavours and served with light and flavoursome canapes.

Underground Wine Cellar

The cool surrounds of the resort's intimate, sunken wine cellar - built around a huge piece of driftwood swept ashore - is the ideal spot for a romantic wine, cheese and chocolate tasting, or a decadent tasting menu.

Spa and Wellness

Wellbeing and balance in body and soul is central to Gili Lankanfushi's ethos and Meera Spa, offering holistic healing in a spectacular overwater setting.


The open air walkways link the treatment rooms, steam room and sauna with the vast relaxation areas, where guests can watch the waves and enjoy a spicy pot of freshly brewed Maldivian ginger tea after their treatments.

The range of global therapies, drawing on age old cultures and knowledge, begin with a pampering mineral-rich sea salt foot cleanse in a symbolic ritual. Therapeutic treatments use organic products - some created on the island from the finest oceanic and plant extracts to heal and revitalise. Glass floors in the six treatment rooms allow guests to watch the fish flitting amongst the coral during treatments.

There are many varied immersive wellness journeys that range from one to five days in length, include a range of bespoke and curated restorative experiences with long-lasting benefits. New active programmes combine surfing or scuba diving with tailored spa treatments to allow guests to reach their full potential whether under the sea or riding the waves.


Daily complimentary yoga classes are available and it takes place at sunrise each morning at the beachside Yoga Champa.









Experiences

Located in one of the largest lagoons in the Maldives, Gili Lankanfushi is an epitome of paradise with the surrounding teeming with marine life.

Delve into the Maldives’ theatrical underwater world with Ocean Paradise Dive Centre – a PADI-certified outlet operating at Gili Lankanfushi. Many renowned dive sites, such as Banana, HP or Rainbow Reef, Okobe Thila, Nassimo Thila, Maagiri and Manta Point are a short boat ride away from our resort

The blue lagoon is the perfect place for water sports such as windsurfing, kayaking, canoeing and paddle-boarding on complimentary basis, with lessons provided for beginners. If power and speed is what you are after, they offer wakeboarding, waterskiing, jet skiing, jet blading, fun tubing and private speed boat trips too.

For surf lovers, you can surf at three of the very best surf reefs in Maldives or learn to ride the waves in their lagoon. Gili Lankanfushi’s setting in the North Malé atoll is ideally located for unbeatable surfing. Some of the best breaks in the country lie on their doorstep, with three just a five-minute boat ride away and several more are within 20 minutes. Tropical water temperatures, consistent swell and low crowds add to the appeal.

The location also offers a variety of facilities and activities for sports and outdoor lovers, such tennis, volleyball, table tennis, petanque and even board games if you're want to take a break from the outdoors. For families, you can revel in some couple time as the resort has special programmes to entertain your little ones.

For movie junkies, you can take your movie experience further with Gili's Jungle Cinema whether you can revel in your favourite movies under the stars.
