Amanjiwo (peaceful soul) overlooks the Unesco World Heritage Site of Borobudur in the rural heartland of Central Java. Amanjiwo Location

The second-largest island of the Indonesian archipelago, Java lies in between Sumatra and Bali, with the Java Sea to the north, and the Indian Ocean to the south.

Amanjiwo is a 75-minute drive from Yogyakarta airport, and two hours from Solo airport. The complimentary airport concierge service includes customs clearance assistance and car transfers.

Inspired by the 9th-century Buddhist sanctuary of Borobudur, Amanjiwo’s Suites feature four-pillar king-size beds on raised terrazzo platforms, spacious garden terraces, some with private swimming pools, and lounging pavilions. Garden Pool Suite

At 243 square metres (2,615 square feet), Amanjiwo’s Garden Pool Suites offer the all the privacy and comfort of the Garden Suites, with the addition of their own private swimming pool.

The Menoreh Hills and rice paddies are in view from the private walled garden and outdoor daybed, ideal for lounging.

Inside a central four-pillar king-size bed rests on a raised terrazzo platform, providing a hint of grandeur while a bathroom with sunken outdoor bathtub offers a moment of calm.

 

Borobudur Suite

Each of Amanjiwo’s 243 square metre (2,615 square feet) Borobudur Suites has a private walled garden with picturesque views of Borobudur and the surrounding valley beyond.

For restful seclusion, the suite’s king-sized bed has four-pillars and rests on a raised terrazzo platform, while the bathroom features a sunken outdoor bathtub, twin vanities, and dressing areas, ideal for couples seeking space to reconnect.

Dalem Jiwo Suite

Set amidst the rice paddies with its own private entrance, the Dalem Jiwo Suite offers two-bedroom pavilions, each with four-pillar king-sized beds.

Offering 1,200 square metres (12,917 square feet) of living space, the suite has a large Javanese stone swimming pool, wraparound terrace, and two-outdoor bales for lounging.

The expansive outdoor areas overlook the Buddhist sanctuary of Borobudur providing stunning views, with a sunken outdoor bathtub to make the most of the serene setting.

The Terrace

Amanjiwo' Terrace is an elegant venue perfectly positioned for those stopped in their tracks by the awe-inspiring views that greet guests on arrival. Simply settle into a chair and order your refreshments of choice, then continue to drink in the vista that takes in the entire Kedu Plain ringed by smoking volcanoes and Borobudur rising dramatically in the foreground.

The Pool Club
