Nestled between Ubud’s rainforest, rice paddy fields and the sacred Wos River, in an authentic Balinese artist village called Keliki, Capella Ubud, Bali offers 22 extravagant, individually styled one-bedroom tented retreats and one two-bedroom lodge.
Newly opened in the summer of 2018, Capella Ubud had already received fame and recognition from travellers all over the world. In 2019, it was rated the #1 Top Hotel in Bali by the prestigious Conde Nast Traveler Reader's Choice Award, and also placed as the No. 1 Resort in Asia and No. 1 Resort in Indonesia for the second year in a row under the Travel + Leisure - World's Best Award.
Constructed in between all of the trees with a focus on preserving the natural landscape, enjoy the timeless charm with a wink back to the early 1800s, balanced by modern conveniences such as air-conditioning, high-speed Wi-Fi, a complimentary smartphone inclusive of data, an in-retreat refreshment trunk and an Illy espresso machine as well as a tea station.
Guests can reach Capella Ubud via a 1 hour 45 minutes car ride from Bali’s Ngurah Rai International Airport.
Accommodation
Designed by the world-class landscape architect Bill Bensley, the camp has 22 one-bedroom tent villas and a two-bedroom chalet. All room types are equipped with a private saltwater pool and outdoor terrace. Located in the centre of lush rainforest, you are in an ecological sanctuary and in harmony with the surrounding nature.
All of the tented retreats are adorned with valuable antique art objects and furniture, some of which are from the owner’s treasured private collection. The owner, Mr. Suwito Gunawan, a prominent businessman from Jakarta, is an avid art collector who is planning to open an art gallery on a site adjacent to Capella Ubud, Bali in the foreseeable future to further complement the experience.

There are 4 different One-Bedroom Tent options, all of which are sized at 173 sqm but offer distinctively enriching experiences due to the difference in the Tent's location. All offer the similar facilities within the tent, such as:

Terrace Tent
Location: Located near Camp Post, on flat terrain with an outlook to the rice terrace and rainforest
Rainforest Tents
Location: These tents are scattered around the camp inside the rainforest, allowing you to enjoy the scenic views overlooking the rainforest. Some are set onto sloping terrain.
River Tents
Location: Secluded on a gradient with views that overlook the Wos river allowing you to embrace the closeness of nature and hear the rippling sounds of water as you fall asleep at night.
Keliki Valley Tents
Location: Well-positioned within the rainforest from an elevated position, the Keliki Valley Tent overlooks and provides the most dramatic and unobstructed views across the beautiful Keliki Valley. The Keliki Valley tent also offers the largest pools.
The Lodge
Blended into the terraced landscape, the Two-Bedroom Lodge measures 217 sqm and boasts an exotic, oriental Chinese colour scheme and design, and overlooks the Keliki Valley from an elevated position. With a split level, an open plan living area offers spacious areas for family and friends to spend time together. A private 19 sqm private pool centrally located within the living room further complements this accommodation.
A master bedroom with a king-sized bed with unobtrusive views out the Keliki Valley.
The Lodge also comes with a twin-bedroom, allowing for a total occupancy of 5 adults or 2 adults and 3 children and 1 infant.
Both bedrooms come with an intricate ensuite that feature a gorgeous, detailed free-standing bath.
Head outside to your outdoor deck where you can find outdoor daybeds, sun lounges and an alfresco dining area, allowing you to dine with views of the Keliki Valley.

Inspired by the spirit of discovery, the restaurants at Capella Ubud adds an unexpected twist to traditional flavours, influenced by the jungle setting and local heritage. Mads Lange
The Camp’s split-level tented dining room offers an elaborate delectable array of international and Indonesian favourite menus inspired by the spice trail across the Nusantara archipelago.
Api Jiwa
Inspired by Japanese Omakse, this highly interactive and intimate Asian barbecue that serves authentic and new age bites in a theatrical enriching neck to tail, farm to table culinary fashion.

The Mortar and Pestle Bar
Located by the poolside, enjoy light poolside snacks and health-conscious options inclusive of a wide range of cocktails.
All beverages are locally inspired and handcrafted using traditional methods inclusive of a mortar and pestle and manual ice crusher in order not to interrupt mother nature’s beautiful rainforest sounds and delights
The Camp Fire
The Camp Fire invites you to spend an evening under the stars, relaxing around the fire and listening to fascinating tales shared by a local storyteller over camp favourites such as hot chocolate and toasted marshmallows.
Some nights the Camp Fire will host silent black and white movies depicting Bali during the 1800s, on other nights you will be serenaded by their jungle orchestra.

The Officer's Tent
The Officers Tent, exclusively reserved for residents of our ultra-luxurious camp, is the camp’s living room and library, where you get treated to morning coffee, afternoon tea, the daily evening cocktail, canapé ritual and after-dinner drinks, are served. A wide range of books, international magazines and board games are available for our guests’ entertainment.
The Cistern
Located behind the spa, the camp’s main swimming pool is a replica of a water reservoir found in the campsite of yesteryear.
