Amanbagh

With its ancient forts and tiger-inhabited wilds, Rajasthan is renowned for its beauty, nowhere more concentrated than in the Aravalli Hills in the garden oasis that is Amanbagh.

Once the staging area for royal tiger hunts, today the rose-hued cupolas and vaulted entrances of the resort's Mughal-inspired structures soar from the greenery – utterly peaceful and consummately private.

Amanbagh Location

Amanbagh is served by the airports of New Delhi, Mumbai and Jaipur. From New Delhi, it is possible to travel to Amanbagh by car, train or helicopter (the property has its own heliport).

Alternatively, guests could take a flight to Jaipur, followed by a two-hour journey by private car. Flights from Delhi to Jaipur depart several times daily and take between 45 and 60 minutes; flights from Mumbai depart several times daily and take an hour and 40 minutes.

Amanbagh Suites and Pavillions

Set in an oasis of fruit trees and flowering shrubs, Amanbagh's Pavilions and Suites create a cool and welcoming contrast to the stark, arid beauty of Rajasthan's Aravalli Hills. Some feature private pools, terraces and courtyards while all have a grand palatial feel, reflecting their royal past as a former hunting ground for the Maharaja of Alwar.

Amanbagh Experiences

From the 17th-century city of Bhangarh and Ajabgarh Fort, to the temple town of Neelkanth and the wilds of Sariska Tiger Reserve, the countryside surrounding Amanbagh reveals the ruins of an ancient empire embedded in a starkly beautiful landscape.

Abandoned just a generation after its founding and rumoured to be haunted, Bhangarh is home to remnants of palaces, temples, pools and bazaars, preserved amid green lawns and giant ficus trees. A national heritage site, it was built in the 17th century by Diwan Madho Singh of the Jaipur royal family. Amanbagh can arrange guided visits to the ruins of this folkloric, medieval city.

Enjoy an exciting day of shopping and sightseeing in Jaipur, the largest city in Rajasthan. Your personal guide will advise where the finest silk carpets, beautiful saris, cool cotton kurtas, pashminas, tailored suits, all manner of shoes, gemstone paintings, silver of all descriptions and antiques can be purchased.

Once the personal hunting ground of the Maharaja of Alwar, Sariska Tiger Reserve is located just 45 minutes by car from Amanbagh. Today the reserve acts as a sanctuary for endangered tigers, and is also home to wildcats, caracals, Sambar deer and many other beautiful species.
